The Masters of the Void are at war. Tearing through the fabric of the universe, they are summoning their minions and strongholds from across the planes to do battle and help them dominate the center of existence itself: the Vortex. Realities are crashing into each other - with cataclysmic results! They have brought about the time of the Maelstrom, and if no one controls the Vortex soon, the cosmos itself may be swept into the Void.

In MAELSTROM, you play a Master of the Void, fighting your opponents for control of the Vortex. Build your army of minions and strongholds, summon them to the battle, and unleash them against your opponents' forces. Maelstrom is a game of fantasy battles, magic, and resource management using a unique hexagonal tile game field that grows as players add allies and stronholds to fill the void that surrounds the Vortex. Game play is fast and furious, as players seek to gain mastery over the battlefield, shaping the very foundation of the Vortex with each strategically placed tile. Only one can rule the void. Will you?

MAELSTROM is a complete, standalone game for 2 players (easily adapted for 4 players) that contains all the commmon tiles in the vortex Collectable game. It includes all the components from all four VORTEX starter sets, as well as dozens of additional tiles found in VORTEX booster packs, 54 flats in all, over 150 tiles. Maelstrom provides everything you neeed for a rich and strategic game, but if you want to delve deeper into the world of the vortex, the game can be expand and customised by collecting additional common tiles and rares found in boosterpacks.

Maelstrom Expansion

The Maelstrom Expansion Pack is designed to supplement and expand Maelstrom. The Maelstrom Expansion Pack contains 15 assorted flats containing 45 tiles not available in the Maelstrom set. Maelstrom is playable in 30-90 minutes.
