Who will emerge victorious as various political factions vie to gain
control of France. Warfrog's latest game, Liberte, brings to life the
chaos that was the French Revolution.
Although the game play is complex and challenging the rules themselves are simple. You have to decide how best to employ the various personalities under your control to gain control of the three main political factions. Will you back the moderate Girondins, or the radical Jacobins, or would you rather attempt to engineer the overthrow of the revolutionaries and restore the monarchy? You can switch from one course to another, as you attempt to gain the most victory points. Sudden death victory conditions means that no player is ever knocked out of the game early. Special cards include bread shortages, religious problems, purges, and the infamous Terror!
"Interactive, tense, and engrossing to the end, this Martin Wallace tour de force often ends in a very close contest." John McCallion, Games Magazine
