A
series of devastating tornadoes, unleashed by enemy mages in the
recent war has left all the king's castles in ruin. Only the foundations
of these once magnificent monuments remain. He has charged his
sons with rebuilding his castles and promised the throne to the
one who can rebuild the tallest and largest castles. Each prince
has 6 knights to supervise the building. Two or more princes may
work together on a castle with their knights competing to control
the highest towers of the castle. Once each year, the king will
tour the castles, to judge the progress of each son. After he
finishes the third tour, he will choose his successor and the
winner!
Each
player starts with a knight on a different one of the game's eight
castles. Each turn a player has 5 action points to spend, which
can be used to build onto exsisting castles or moving knights
to try and control the castles. But what seperates Torres from
other 3D building games is the use of the action cards. They let
players break the rules in a variety of different ways which add
a whole lot of strategic possibilities and a lot of fun to the
game.
With
variety of different and interesting game mechanics, tough decisions
and excellent production, Torres is a great choice for anyone
who likes thinking games.
